Ball Grinding

Carborundum’s ball grinding wheels are of the highest quality and are the preferred product of many in the industry. From grinding through lapping, our engineered formulations using our BX11, BX55 and BX122 bonds lead the way in productivity and quality.

Bearing Grinding

Used by some of the largest manufacturers in the industry, Carborundum’s resin and epoxy bonded grinding wheels for bearing grinding have been continuously developed for maintaining a free cutting action to generate more parts between dressing cycles. They hold form longer and generate accurate high quality finish characteristics.

Rail Grinding

Whether 6 inch or 10 inch, straight or profiled, Carborundum’s rail grinding wheels meet the rail with the aggressive cutting action. Our wheels quickly remove material to regenerate correct rail profiles. Designed for maximum cutting efficiency our wheels allow faster travel rates and extended grinding time between wheel changes on the production rail grinder.

Blade Honing and Grinding

No matter what stage of the grinding or honing process, Carborundum’s wheels for razor blades and other blade applications are being continually developed to maintain the highest quality cutting edge available in the industry. Our wheels produce better edge characteristics and improved productivity.

Thread Grinding

Whether you are grinding lead screws, bolts, worms or special threads, Carborundum’s BT bond formulation holds shape up to twice as long as other products on the market.

Needle Grinding Disc Grinding

Carborundum’s wheels are widely accepted as one of the finest needle wheels in the industry. Carborundum has invested years of developmental work perfecting unique formulations for grinding high quality cannula points and bevels. Carborundum disc wheels are manufactured through 42 inches in diameter and a variety of bolt patterns. They utilize either steel plates cemented to the discs, or threaded nuts molded into the wheel itself. These wheels are available in BA, BD, B3989 and BY bonds, and grits ranging from very coarse through 1200 grit superfinishing specifications.

Drill and Tap Grinding

Whether you are pointing, chamfering or fluting, Carborundum’s bonds are designed for your process to cut cool with little or no metallurgical damage, and because of our formula’s unique form holding characteristics, they require less dressing than other wheels. Our BTX 69 and BTX 70 epoxy clearing wheels cut clean and cool with extended form holding capabilities. Carborundum manufactures a wide variety of hand held resin bonded blocks, bricks, core files, honing stones, and sticks. These products vary in grit size and grade from coarse grit foundry applications to fine honing and polishing.

Centerless Grinding

Carborundum produces a wide range of product for centerless grinding ranging from heavy stock removal operations to polishing or lapping operations requiring very fine grit sizes requiring extremely smooth uniform finishes. Our rubber regulating wheels hold dress and insure consistency throughout the life of the wheel.

Snag Grinding and Cutting

Our wheels are used by aluminum producers, steel producers, and independent roll shops around the world. Our resin and shellac bond formulations are blended with the latest technology in abrasive combinations to produce the finish and metal removal rates companies are seeking. Carborundum produces these wheels in straight or recessed wheel shapes from 14 through 42 inches in diameter. For superfinishing, Carborundum produces roll grinding wheels to grit sizes as fine as 1000 grit in combination with our unique BY bond formulations that can meet extremely smooth very fine finish requirements. Carborundum snag wheels are made in a wide range of sizes from portable to floor stand to meet the requirements of grinders used in foundry and forging operations. We offer both reinforced and non-reinforced snag wheels. High speed reinforced wheels are made with heavy duty fiberglass layers for maximum safety. Carborundum tough cut saw blades are manufactured up to 36 inches in diameter. Fiberglass reinforced, these wheels are designed to give you higher cutting rates on irons and steels.

Stone and Tile Grinding

Carborundum manufactures a full line of portable roughing and finishing cup wheels for grinding granite and marble countertops. We also manufacture a full range of wheel sizes for disc grinding and cutting ceramic tile products.

Rubber and Plastic Grinding

Carborundum produces wheels with a unique abrasive consisting of alumina bubbles that permits the grinding of rubber and plastics without generating detrimental heat and loading.

Superfinishing

Carborundum manufactures a broad range of products where precision tolerances and uniform, high-quality finishes are required through sub 1 RMS. Our custom engineered wheel specifications use ANSI, FEPA or JIS graded microgrits.

Roll Grinding

Our wheels are used by aluminum producers, steel producers, and independent roll shops around the world. Our resin and shellac bond formulations are blended with the latest technology in abrasive combinations to produce the finish and metal removal rates companies are seeking. Carborundum produces these wheels in straight or recessed wheel shapes from 14 through 42 inches in diameter. For superfinishing, Carborundum produces roll grinding wheels to grit sizes as fine as 1000 grit in combination with our unique BY bond formulations that can meet extremely smooth very fine finish requirements. Carborundum manufactures a wide variety of hand held resin bonded blocks, bricks, core files, honing stones, and sticks. These products vary in grit size and grade from coarse grit foundry applications to fine honing and polishing.

Disc Grinding

Carborundum disc wheels are manufactured through 42 inches in diameter and a variety of bolt patterns. They utilize either steel plates cemented to the discs, or threaded nuts molded into the wheel itself. These wheels are available in BA, BD, B3989 and BY bonds, and grits ranging from very coarse through 1200 grit superfinishing specifications.
